Par goût et curiosité pour la prospective et l’anticipation mais aussi en raison d’une certaine proximité avec les technologies, les artistes oeuvrant dans le champ de la création numérique sont aujourd’hui bien souvent en première ligne des grandes questions sociétales, environnementales, éthiques, économiques ou politiques. Ces thématiques offrent un terrain théorique et créatif idéal pour les acteurs de l’écosystème artistique qui y voient une opportunité de réinventer notre modèle sociétal ainsi que nos modes de pensée. Dans une logique d’innovation constante, les artistes envisagent ainsi notre futur sur la planète comme un laboratoire d’expériences esthétiques, mais également comme un acte politique. A l’ère de l’anthropocène et des prophéties collapsologistes, cette table-ronde abordera la place de l’artiste face à l’urgence de “repeupler les imaginaires” (Stengers).

Out of curiosity for foresight and anticipation, but also due to a certain proximity with technologies, artists working in the field of digital creation are currently very often at the forefront of major societal, environmental, ethical, economic or political issues. These topics offer ideal theoretical and creative scope for players of the artistic ecosystem, who see them as a chance to reinvent our social model and our ways of thinking. With a view to constant innovation, artists envisage our future on the planet as a laboratory of aesthetic experiments, but also as a political act. In our Anthropocene epoch marked by collapsologist prophecies, this round table will look into the role of the artist faced with the urgent need to “repopulate our imaginations” (Stengers).

Maxence s’intéresse depuis la fin des années 90 à l’impact des nouvelles technologies sur nos sociétés, particulièrement dans le domaine des arts plastiques (arts numériques), de la production sonore (musiques électroniques, avant-garde) et de la communication. Médiateur, formateur et conférencier, il s’est également exprimé sur les sujets du corps et de la technologie, l’intelligence artificielle, la réalité virtuelle, l’histoire des musiques électroniques et les nouveaux comportements connectés.
Ever since the late 1990s, Maxence has been interested in the impact of new technologies on our societies, particularly in the fields of visual arts (digital arts), sound production (avant-garde, electronic music) and communication. As a mediator, trainer and public speaker, he has also addressed the topics of the body and technology, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, the history of electronic music and new connected behaviours.

Designers à Strasbourg, Gwenaëlle Bertrand et Maxime Favard s’associent en 2012 et fondent leur propre studio de design global sous le nom de MAXWEN. C’est par une identité hybride, mêlant le projet, la recherche et l’enseignement, que les deux designers appréhendent la diversité de leur activité professionnelle.
Designers in Strasbourg, Gwenaëlle Bertrand and Maxime Favard joined forces in 2012 to start their own global design studio. They called it MAXWEN. It is through a hybrid identity which mixes projects, research and teaching that they tackle the diversity of their professional activity.
